CAC’s Student Media opportunities seek to give students experience in various areas of communication and explore careers in the media field. In Digital Mixed Media I, students learn skills such as writing, photography, videography, and graphic design. These skills can lead to further study in areas such as marketing, advertising, graphic design, strategic communications, business, public relations, journalism, film, and much more. Students can apply what they learn in Digital Mixed Media II and above and create content for publications and staffs listed below.
Student Media Publications
The Mustang Yearbook
Yearbook is a designated group of students who come together to find photos, write stories, conduct interviews, and more for CAC’s yearbook. The yearbook includes athletics, people, senior specialties, special events, and more. The yearbook spotlights almost every aspect of Mustang Mountain throughout each year. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a part of the yearbook staff.
Throughout the year, the students are working everyday to perfect their work for the students to read at the end of the year. These yearbooks are timeless and can be mementos for years to come. The staff goes above and beyond each year to top the last year’s book. This makes students get excited for the end of the year to look through their books and get them signed.

The Pony Press
The Pony Press is a student publication that is sent to secondary students and staff at CAC. Some of those include information on our sports schedules and the past sports outcomes. They also keep track of different holidays that pass by. The Pony Press also keeps track of other things like school plays or musicals.
This month the Pony Press has shown appreciation for Black History Month and historical black people that made a big impact on the future. Events in the Pony Press include almost anything you can think of. For example, they introduced “Quiz Bowl”, a group of students that answer random brain wracking questions and compete against other schools. Mainly, the Pony Press talks about the different exciting events going on at CAC.

The Mustang Monitor
The CAC Sports Media are students who work hard to showcase every aspect of the sports at Central Arkansas Christian. They have a Mustang Monitor that is sent out to the students every Monday, which has many different sections over CAC’s athletics. It shows people what sports are going on, in the future or previous weeks. It has different sports fundraisers, to raise money for big events. They also have a leaderboard, where a sport is picked and shows the highlights of it. There is a “Gold Stang” in each issue, where an athlete is highlighted with their accomplishments.
The CAC Sports Media works hard, but they still have fun. They enjoy interviewing people, editing, photography, writing, etc. There is a part for each person apart from the Media, and they get to be a part of sports in a different way. The workload is attainable, and it is easy when you love what you’re doing! The CAC Sports Media exists to establish a community between players, coaches, and non-athletes. It makes people feel special, while also providing entertainment for students.

Student Media Agency
Creative services for the CAC campus community and business partners, including writing, graphic design, photography, & videography.
Learn more about the Student Media Agency from Sophomore Katie New: The Student Media Agency is a group of students that come together to contribute and create different types of media, not only for Central Arkansas Christian, but also for others. We do many different projects, including a brochure for a church and a logo for a man’s film business. For our school, we create things for our media instagram, posters for holidays/ months, shirt designs for special events, help create screens for our gym’s video board, take photos of students, and more! We do what we do to provide a sense of community at CAC. We help others when they need it, we recognize accomplishments, we make people feel special, and we help spread awareness.
The Student Media Agency is something that I look forward to everyday; it is full of pride, leadership, community, and friendship to all who are a part of it! In the past, the Agency has had many different accomplishments to be proud of. Some of their highlights are: designing of a children’s book for the new MME campus, photography of home and away athletic events, and creating videos for Instagram and student publications. With the Agency, you can learn a lot of real-life skills that can be applied to future jobs. These jobs include: Photographer, videographer, graphic designer, web designer, journalist (broadcast, multimedia, writer), public relations specialist, advertising specialist, marketing specialist, media buyer, and event planner. As a member of CAC’s Student Media Agency, I believe that the skills I’ve learned in the classroom will carry over into college, and after college. It created a leadership role in me, and gave me a sense of responsibility at my very own school.
