CAC Cheer Brings Home Big Awards from 2024 NCA Camp

The Varsity and Junior High Cheer Teams spent four days in June at the U.S. National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Cheer Camp at ASU-Jonesboro. Both squads were able to learn directly from NCA staff as well as our own coaches, while connecting with each other as a team and building confidence in their skills. Several teams from across the state attended, and the Junior High Mustangs brought home several awards to the Mountain!

ALL-AMERICANS: All-American is the most prestigious individual cheerleading recognition in America, and three Mustangs were selected:

They were required to display a high level of technical proficiency and overall competence on jumps, tumbling and performing a cheer.

TOP GUN AWARD WINNERS: Top Gun is a competition for best execution of the dance, stunt, jump or tumbling pass. Only one winner is selected in each category from all attendees.

MORE AWARDS:

  • Varsity Cheer received the Herkie Award, which is awarded to the teams who show the most sportsmanship during camp.
  • Savanna Kent (9th), Hadley Sandlin (11th) and Danelle Walker (10th) all received the Pin it Forward award for their encouragement, sportsmanship and kindness at camp.

Help us congratulate all of these Mustangs on how well they represented CAC, and keep an eye on the sidelines this fall to see them in action!
