Lady Mustang soccer looks ahead to conference

As the soccer team approaches their post-season, the Lady Mustangs have been focusing on one goal — the conference tournament. Coach Riley Rosenow is determined to see her team grow. “We will compete in the conference tournament to try and secure a spot at state,” she said. “I’d love for us to secure a higher rank in seeding this season.”

The heart of this push is senior captain Kate Tuxhorn. As the team’s strongest leader, Coach Rosenow says Kate’s influence is indisputable.

“You can tell how the team respects her by the way they respond to her and follow her example.”

Coach Rosenow said the future looks just as bright thanks to younger members like freshmen Natalie Tuxhorn and Lily Browning. Natalie has already become a cornerstone of the defense by providing a strong reliable voice for the backline while Lily’s speed makes her an exceptional athlete that can be used all over the field.

The girls and boys soccer teams play next at home on Friday, April 10.
