CAC Cheerleaders Shine at End-of-Season Events
We’ve all seen CAC’s cheerleaders on the sidelines of various sporting events throughout the season, but many of these athletes are also part of competitive cheer teams when they’re not rooting on the Mustangs. April and May marked the end of the competitive cheer season, and our CAC athletes brought home lots of hardware with their respective gyms at these by-invitation-only events. To even be invited to these events is difficult, but to actually place is even harder, as these girls are going up against the best in their divisions from all across the country! We couldn’t be prouder of their results!
- Eighth grader Ava McCullar competed at the Allstar World Championship in Orlando on April 18-19. Her team, Fame, with World Class All-Stars, won 1st place in the Senior Level 5 Extra Small division! She also competed on a second team, Lady Luxe, who won 7th place in the Senior Level 4 Extra Small division.
- Eighth grader Caroline Allen also competed at that same event. Her team, Mockingjays, with Cheer Force Arkansas won first place in the Junior Level 3 Small division!
- Eighth grader Sholey Woolverton attended D1 Summit at Disney World on May 2-5, with her team, Ares, at Cheer City United. While they didn’t win, they left it all on the mat and even hit ZERO (which, in cheer terms, means everything was executed perfectly with no deductions from the judges)!
- Seventh grader Avery Easley’s teams at Cheer Time Revolution, Fierce and Shade, also received invitations to both events but were unable to attend due to injuries. However, they did attend a smaller end-of-season event in Pensacola where both teams were named Grand Champion, in Levels 4 and 5 respectively.
- Sixth grader Logan Chumley competed at Worlds with Firebirds at Cheer Force Arkansas. Her team placed 7th in the Junior 4 division.
And if you thought competitive cheer is just for Secondary students, you’d be wrong! Several of our elementary students competed and showed out as well!
- Fifth grader Karter Shamlin and fourth grader Morgan Marshall attended AllStar Worlds with World Class All-Stars. Both girls’ teams placed 7th (Sass and Vogue). They both also competed together on a second team, Golden Girls, where they were named Finalists in Junior Level 2.
- Fifth grader Shelby Bridges attended Youth Summit in Tampa with Cheer City United. Her team, Apollo, placed 12th out of 21 teams in Youth Level 1.
- Third grader Brooklee Piccino attended US Finals in Pensacola. Her team, Olympians, also with Cheer City United, placed 3rd in Youth Level 1.
- Second graders Halle Gregory and Claire Cagle competed at AllStar Worlds with Cheer Force Arkansas. Halle’s team, Royals, was named a Finalist in Youth Level 1. Claire’s team, Angels, placed 12th in Level 1 Mini.
Help us congratulate these athletes for their hard work and dedication to their sport. We can’t wait to see them cheering for the purple and gold on the CAC sidelines over the next few years!
