The Girls Varsity Track Team had an incredible season. At the conference meet on Wednesday, April 29, the team scored a total of 258 points, securing the title of conference champions for the third year in a row. Junior Micah Faulkner was the high point winner with a total of 45 points. At the state meet on Tuesday, May 5, the team finished as the 3A state runner-up.

Sophomore Ava Wise said, “The conference meet went very well. This is the third year in a row we’ve won conference, and I think that shows our dedication and teamwork. I am proud of my individual performance because I won the 1600 (mile), running a 5:46.”

Another conference meet highlight was sophomore Sloan Smith breaking the 400 meter school record with a time of 59.30, and she broke it again at the state meet on Tuesday.

“Sloan Smith didn’t just break a record; she earned it through discipline, grit, and a willingness to do what most won’t,” Coach Morse said. “The 400 meters demands both speed and strength, and Sloan showed she has both. This is a proud moment for our program and a standard for what hard work and commitment can produce.

In addition to their team 2nd place finish at state, they also earned multiple event championships.
