UPDATED: MARCH 20, 2020

Secondary Campus Parents, Guardians and Students,

As you read in Dr. Lambert’s update, CAC will be closed until March 27. Our goal is to minimize the extension of the school year beyond the current schedule without negatively impacting our instructional goals and standards. Considering this, we are implementing a Remote Learning Strategy to begin the morning of Monday, March 16.

We have outlined online education expectations, given detailed examples, addressed scheduling and answered as many questions as possible. Please know we are working with our teachers to be as clear as possible to minimize any potential frustrations.

THIS PAGE CONTAINS A LARGE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT THOROUGHLY.

Spring Break

To allow all CAC families and employees to enjoy Spring Break, we will schedule 5 full days of online work (March 16 – March 20). Students and teachers will not be expected to work during Spring Break (March 23 – March 27).

Device Loan Program

We understand all students may not have access to a device at home. During school closure, we are offering a free Device Loan Program to all 6 – 12th grade students. Students will be able to check out a school-owned Chromebook and charger to complete assigned schoolwork until classes resume on campus.

Frequently Asked Questions

REMOTE LEARNING FAQ's
What if we have a question regarding a Remote Learning class or assignment? Please contact the teacher with questions regarding their classes and assignments.

If you have questions regarding CAC's COVID-19 plan or policy, please contact Mr. Stewart (astewart@cacmustangs.org) or Ms. Brackins (rbrackins@cacmustangs.org)
What happens if my student does not have a class period or has a subject that is not scheduled to meet online?Students can classify the period as a study hall but have no responsibility to attend a class period during that time. If possible, we advocate for students to work ahead on other assignments or use the time to enjoy reading a book.
Is CAC providing students with devices?Yes! We have set up a Device Loan Program. Click Here for instructions.
What are the student attendance requirements? We highly encourage students to attend online classes according to their schedule. Assignments will have due dates, time limits and will be graded. Regular attendance will not be taken, yet accountability will be achieved through assignment completion.
What about activities and athletics? All school activities and athletic events are postponed or canceled through April 17. Campus principals will communicate with parents regarding specific CAC events. Events and activities are being reviewed on a case by case basis.

Athletics will be subject to AAA mandates.
