Participate in the Baggo Tournament!
Form a team and raise funds to support our school
The Baggo Tournament is a new tradition at CAC Fest! The tournament is free to enter and serves as a fundraiser for the Game On athletic campaign, which funds upgrades to our stadium, gymnasium and athletic playing fields!
This will be a very fast-paced tournament with plenty of twists and turns along the way! It might not be (ok it WON’T be) the most serious tournament ever, but it’s sure to be lots of FUN! Get in on the fun by forming a team of two to four players. We’ve made it easy for you: Simply create your fundraising page below and share it with potential sponsors and donors. All ages and skill level are welcome!
EVENT RULES – BAGGO TOURNAMENT
- This will be a very light-hearted tournament. The goal is to have fun and include everyone in the CAC family. The grand prize is… well… TBD but don’t expect a cash payout or free tuition. Expect something more along the lines of a restaurant gift card or a gift basket. This is a fundraiser after all!
- A maximum of 32 teams will be allowed to register. Teams can include students and/or adults. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate.
- The cornhole tournament will feature teams of two players and up to two substitutes. Subs are only permitted to substitute between games.
- Players will alternate pitching bags until each player has pitched all four of his/her bags. Players not pitching will take score that round. One round of warm-up throw permitted. Players must not cross the foul line with their feet before the bag has landed. The team who scored in the preceding frame shall pitch first in the next frame.
- The tournament will be a “group play” format, where teams play a three-game round-robin within their group with one team advancing to a bracketed, single elimination tournament. All games will have an 8-minute time limit and a pitch clock. The team with the most points at the end of the 8-minute time limit wins the game. If the score is tied at the end of the time limit, teams will continue to play until one team scores.
- Teams will use cancellation scoring method to 21. Players will score 3 points for each bag that goes into the hole on the board and 1 point for each bag that lands and stays on the board. Any bag that hits the ground before hitting the board is “dead” and won’t be eligible to score points even if it bounces onto the board. You may score over 21 points and do not have to win by 2 points.
- Participants must use the boards and bags provided.
- *Group Play Tiebreaker – winner will be determined by which team won the head-to-head match in the group play.
- **Group Play 3-Way Tie – All 3 teams will compete in a throw-off:
- Select 1 player from your team to complete.
- Each player has 4 throws
- Most points from these 4 throws wins. If tie, repeat throw-off until winner is determined – another throw just between the 2 people.
- ***Group Play Wildcard – Wildcards will be determined by a throw-off between the next best team in each bracket that did not already advance.
