Inclement Weather
Preparing for Inclement Weather
All CAC campuses will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3. Each campus has provided alternate activities for students. Decisions regarding Friday will be made after an assessment of weather and road conditions tomorrow. Information will be provided through our phone notification system. Individual activity group sponsors will communicate schedules for the rest of the week.
Secondary Campus
How should my student(s) treat this day?
We are treating this as a day of remote learning. Students should prepare for remote learning where they are able to complete work on their own time. All days are considered regular school days not snow days. Our mindset is that of the remote learning we implemented in Spring 2020.
Schedule/Livestream
- Teachers will not livestream any classes on this remote learning day.
- Teachers will record lessons and post them daily.
- Students will not follow a regular bell schedule, rather they will simply be required to complete their work for each class by accessing instructions in their assigned Google Classrooms.
- Students must follow their assignments and due dates as outlined on Google Classroom
- PE, strength and conditioning, and some fine arts classes will not meet remotely. For fine arts classes, students should check their Google Classroom.
Communication
- Between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., teachers will be available to communicate with students. Teachers will respond to student communication within 24 hours.
Lesson Planning/ Student Assignments
- Teachers will present a 5-20 mini video lesson for each class.
- After the video mini-lesson, students should complete their assignment(s) in Google Classroom for the duration of the class. The goal is for students to take approximately 45 minutes to watch their video lesson and complete their work similar to on-campus learning.
Tests/Quizzes
- Students will only be assigned a quiz or a test remotely this week if they have been prepared accordingly.
