CAC Announces New Secondary Campus Administrative Team for 2023-24

We have enjoyed a God-blessed year of phenomenal accomplishments across our campuses. From academic achievements to success in our fine arts and athletics programs, the school year has been filled with peak moments. As the final weeks of this year come into focus, there is much to be grateful for and celebrate. The end of the school year brings with it a number of changes. Not only will we be seeing our beloved senior class turning their tassels in a couple of weeks, but we will also see a change to our administrative team.

As we announced at the beginning of the school year, current Secondary Principal Dr. Andrew Stewart will become the third president in CAC’s 51-year history. With Dr. Stewart’s advancement comes an opportunity to reimagine our Secondary administration team. We are excited to announce our 2023-24 administrative team at the Secondary Campus for the upcoming school year.

Jamie Custer, Secondary Principal

We are pleased to announce that Jamie Custer will become Secondary Principal for the 2023-24 school year. Mrs. Custer brings with her a wealth of leadership experience at CAC and has demonstrated a deep love and care for all of the students with whom she has worked. Mrs. Custer has worked at CAC for six years serving as a teacher, principal (PV) and most recently as the Director of Academic Counseling at the Secondary Campus, which she will continue to oversee. Before joining CAC, Mrs. Custer taught 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Harding University and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Freed-Hardeman University. In 2019, she completed her Ed.S. in educational leadership from Arkansas State University. Mrs. Custer is married to Drew, and they have two children, both at CAC: Hannah (10th grade) and Luke (8th).

Mrs. Custer looks forward to continuing to build upon the strong foundation of academic excellence that is central to CAC’s mission and hopes to foster a school environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially and spiritually.

Matt Hall, Assistant Principal

We are blessed that Coach Matt Hall will continue to serve as Secondary Assistant Principal and head boys basketball coach at CAC. He has served as assistant principal for the past four years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and sports management from Harding University, and earned his master’s in kinesiology and master’s in teaching from SAU. After playing his undergraduate years at Harding University, Coach Hall played basketball professionally in Europe and Mexico. Coach Hall is married to Laura and they have four children, all at CAC: Andi (7th), Laney (6th) Evan (3rd) and Asher (PreK3).

A constant presence in the hallways of Mustang Mountain, Coach Hall’s primary goal is to help create a safe, positive and supportive learning environment for all students. His expanded role will include systemwide safety and security components.

Janice Northen, Assistant Principal

We are excited to announce that Janice Northen will serve as a Secondary Assistant Principal beginning in the 2023-24 school year. CAC first welcomed Mrs. Northen in 2011 as the High School Choir Director. Before coming to Mustang Mountain, Mrs. Northen taught music in Fayetteville Public Schools. She has 15 years of teaching experience including music and computer applications and has served at CAC as Director of Educational Media and Technology Integration, which will continue to be under her oversight in her new role. In addition to her bachelor’s in music from Henderson State University, Mrs. Northen also holds a master’s in educational technology and a graduate certificate in K-12 online teaching, both from the University of Arkansas. Mrs. Northen graduates from Henderson State University again next week with an Ed.S. degree in principalship. She will play a significant role in teacher and instructional support.

Mrs. Northen and her husband, Greg, have a beautiful foster child and two spunky children at CAC: Clark (2nd grade) and Piper (kindergarten). She enjoys playing piano, painting, swimming, riding her bicycle, and anything else that involves sunshine!
