CAC’s 3rd President: Dr. Andy Stewart

To our CAC Community,

This week marks the beginning of a new era in the history of Central Arkansas Christian as Dr. Andy Stewart steps into the role of President. This moment is pivotal in the history of our great school, and we are deeply excited for the future. For more than 50 years, CAC has aspired to be a place where we partner with parents to provide a distinctively Christian education that inspires excellence, independence and a transforming faith in God. The men and women who came before us set a vision and laid the foundation for CAC to become the Godly, family-oriented community that it is today.

As we take our next steps forward, we want to honor the work and leadership of Dr. Carter Lambert, who has led our community faithfully as head of school since his arrival as president in 2002. Dr. Lambert has guided CAC through some of its most challenging times, including an unprecedented recession and, most recently, a global pandemic. Dr. Lambert’s steady hand and commitment to CAC’s mission has put us in an excellent position as we embark on our next 50 years. As I have said to many before, I believe God brought Dr. Lambert to CAC for the purpose of leading us through challenging times, and he has done so with grace and humility. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank Dr. Lambert for his dedicated leadership and service as our President for these last 21 years.

As we consider a vision for the future of CAC and for Christian K-12 education going forward, we are thrilled for Dr. Andy Stewart to begin his leadership of the school as he takes on the role of President. Upon his arrival to CAC in 2014, we knew that God had blessed us with a gifted leader with a clear, aligned vision for the mission of our school. Dr. Stewart has been instrumental in CAC’s recent growth. As principal, Dr. Stewart guided our Secondary Campus with a Godly and encouraging spirit. He inspires excellence from students as well as faculty, and our incredible student achievements speak to that deep work. His heart for students, his connection with parents and his devotion to God excite us about the future as he works with the Board to chart our course into the next 50 years. Under his presidency CAC will continue to flourish as an outstanding Christian educational institution.

A Consistent Vision for CAC

CAC Family,

I am humbled, honored and excited to embark on my new role as the third president of Central Arkansas Christian School. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Board and Dr. Lambert for his 21 years of leadership, guidance and mentorship. The CAC board has entrusted me with the significant responsibility of leading this great organization while standing on the shoulders of those who served this organization faithfully before me. With this in mind, I do not take this role lightly; I understand the importance of advancing a vision that promotes CAC as a leading Christian school on a state and national level.

As president, I intend to foster an environment of transparency, open communication and teamwork. I look forward to empowering our CAC family to grow in faith and formation, to being deeply involved in campus life and to being consistently visible to our incredible staff and community. I am excited to walk alongside our students, experiencing powerful teaching moments in the classroom, listening to our students lead in chapel and watching them perform in fine arts and athletics. We will experience moments of loss and moments of triumph, and we will experience them as one community.

With change, there is an opportunity to look to the future of CAC. Moving forward there will be an increased emphasis on the following:

  • Specialized chapel moments and varied Bible offerings
  • Increased community involvement and service
  • Increased online and social engagement with CAC families
  • Active alumni engagement events
  • Increased academic offerings and unique classroom experiences
  • Continued focus on hiring highly qualified, missional staff
  • Continued facilities improvement
  • Continued engagement with the traditions that make CAC home

With change also comes natural trepidation, differing focuses, opinions, and more. All are valid concerns; however, I know this to be true: CAC was built on the mission and values of like-minded Christians who strived to provide an essential Christian education based on excellence, independence and a partnership between the school and its constituents. The formula of faithful people and a concrete mission has provided the foundation for this organization to enrich young people’s lives with a quality Christian education for over half a century. As we prepare to take the next step to move CAC forward as a distinctively Christian school, I recognize that it is our people and our mission that make CAC such a special place to be.

I am excited to begin this new adventure with you all and relish the opportunity to serve the CAC family. In times of transition, I am reminded of the steadfastness of God and His abiding presence. God challenges leaders to be courageous and reliant on Him. Joshua 1:9 is one of my favorite passages in the Bible as it is both challenging and supportive all in one verse. The verse states: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

As I think about our future, I am grateful for what God has called CAC to be. Let us all be courageous as we seek out His will and achieve the future God has put before us. I want to thank the CAC family for your support, and I am excited to walk through this journey with you.

In Him,
Dr. Andy Stewart
President
