Knight Leads Trio of Experienced Coaches

Mustang Baseball is fresh off an unbelievable spring run that saw them finish as runners up at the State Championship. With a new diamond sports complex set to open in the spring, Mustang Athletics is proud to announce its full coaching staff for the 2025 season.

“What gets me truly excited for the future of our program is the caliber of leaders we have coming in to coach our young men,” Athletic Director Hayden Cruce said. “We are proud to have this group lead Mustang Baseball and develop them as not only excellent ballplayers, but as admirable men.”

Jordan Knight was hired last spring to be the Head Baseball Coach, taking over for Cruce, who had stepped into the role following the departure of the 2023 coaching staff in November.

The 2025 CAC Baseball Coaching Staff

Prior to CAC, Coach Knight coached in Texas (6 years) and Arkansas (5 years) as an assistant baseball/football coach and Head Baseball Coach. Most recently, Coach Knight served five years as head coach at Malvern High School. He attended Henderson State on a baseball scholarship and finished his college baseball career at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Texas. Coach Knight and his wife Cara have two daughters, London (3) and Tegan (1). Outside of sports and education, Coach Knight enjoys archery, fishing, and exploring the outdoors with his wife and kids. Coach Knight also serves as a Bible teacher and football defensive coordinator.

Joining Coach Knight as assistant baseball coach is J.D. Plumlee, Mustang Football Head Coach and Assistant AD. Coach Plumlee is no stranger to CAC, having joined the school this past February. He has helped build a culture of faith, discipline and respect while leading the Mustangs to a playoff berth in his first year. Coach Plumlee earned a baseball scholarship to Arkansas Tech and has been active as a travel ball coach for years. He is husband to elementary P.E. teacher Tiffany Plumlee and the father of Jackson, 9th, and Madison, 7th.

Rounding out our coaching staff is CAC dad Dustin Moseley. Coach Moseley is a baseball lifer who brings a wealth of experience at all levels of the game to our team. After a wildly successful high school baseball career, Coach Moseley was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round of the 2000 draft. He went on to spend seven years as a pitcher in the Major Leagues with notable stints on the Angels, Yankees and Padres. He knows firsthand the physical and mental demands the game makes on players. As the owner of Proformance Sports Academy, he has earned a reputation as a dedicated mentor and coach to thousands of players from youth leagues to professionals. Coach Moseley will serve as volunteer pitching coach this season. He is married to Carly and is father to Cooper, 9th, and Avery.

“We are blessed to have his experience, teaching ability and commitment to faith on our team,” Cruce said. “As you can see, it’s going to be an incredible year for Mustang Baseball. Beyond 2025, the future of our program is incredibly bright with Coach Knight at the helm, and I am excited to see how our young men grow under his leadership.”
