Working Student – Becca Rossi

On June 3, 2023, The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts will be hosting an event planned by teens, for teens. In fact, CAC’s very own Becca Rossi is on the Teen Advisory Board for the AMFA. From paintings and pottery, to songs and poetry, middle and high school students from across the state of Arkansas will have the opportunity to submit their art to be featured in the event, which will also include “food, games, and other activities.”

The AMFA teen advisory board is made up of volunteers who serve the museum for about a year, and includes junior Becca Rossi. As a member of the teen advisory board, Becca’s main role is to “help plan the Teen Takeover event at the AMFA on June 3rd.”

For this year’s Teen Takeover event, Becca and other members of the board will not only plan the event, but also help teach art classes and lead tours of the gallery.

The theme of this year’s event is “Better Together.” If you are interested in submitting a piece for the show, you can submit a picture or video of your work to amfateentakeover@gmail.com by Monday, May 5th. All artists will receive a notification by May 12th to let them know if their art will be shown. If your art is chosen, “[AMFA] will have a drop off day at the Museum on May 21st, or you can contact me, brossi1206@gmail.com to drop off your art at school!”

If you are interested in supporting Arkansas youth artists, Becca says “I really think students should go to the event, which is from 1 to 4pm at the Museum. It will be a lot of fun!”
